Colour Description

'Oneroa' (previously named 'Pito-one') is a colourway inspired by walking the long stretch of pebble and shell-flecked sand on the beach near where I live. It consists of beautiful silvery greys, warm ochre, blues and jewel tones.

10% of the profits from this colourway goes to support the work of Taki Rua Productions, Aotearoa's foremost Māori theatre company. Read more about their work here.

Note - As this yarn is non-superwash this colourway differs slightly in appearance to the same colourway on superwash yarn. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and I will be happy to supply you with as much info and as many pics as I can!

Small batch hand-dyed.

Yarn Description

Exquisite quality pure NZ Corriedale 4ply yarn. Corriedale has a very similar squish and softness to Merino but is harder wearing, longer lasting and more pill-resistant. Beautifully cozy and supple to work with and wear.

Non-Superwash yarn - be sure to hand wash only. Non-superwash yarn is perfect for projects that require more 'stickiness' in your yarn, for example when steeking. The cuticles of the yarn have not had a process done to them where they lie flat and smooth on the surface of the yarn, therefore the fibres can stick together more easily.

415m per 100g

$35 for a 100g skein or $170 for a Sweater Set of 5 x 100g skeins of the same colour (pre-order only).

Please note that Sweater Sets are pre-orders only so are not in stock, please allow approximately 4 - 8 weeks for any Sweater Set pre-orders.

Small batch, hand-dyed yarn from my little studio in Lower Hutt, Aotearoa/New Zealand. Everything, from sourcing the yarn to shipping, is done with love and care by hand. The nature of hand-dyed yarn is that no two skeins are exactly the same, creating beautifully nuanced colourways.

I source finest quality, fully traceable and mulesing-free, ethically, sustainably farmed yarns from New Zealand and abroad.

The dyes I use are made in Australia and New Zealand.  They are acid dyes that are used for dyeing protein-based fibre (such as wool and silk). I take every care to use only the quantities necessary to create my colourways. This means that the dyepot is fully exhausted when the dyeing is complete - that is, the water is clear, so I can reuse the same water for the next batch.
